Fundraiser
Flamingos and tropical decor adorned the First Annual Flamingo Fantango. This fundraising event was held on June 6th, 2003 at Merrymakers Club on Davis Islands in Tampa. The event was sponsored by Special Creations, Inc., AboutMe Jewelry and the Sultenfuss Family, in honor of their daughter Sydney Sultenfuss who has had Juvenile or Type 1 Diabetes since she was 2 years old. Over $10,000 dollars was raised for the American Diabetes Association to help find a cure for Diabetes.
Thanks to the local South Tampa Businesses that helped make Flamingo Fantango a success. Special Creations About Me Jewelry for the Beaded and Silver Medical ID Bracelets, VonThaden designs for their Sterling Silver Jewelry and handbags, the Goodie Basket for wrapping all of the silent auction items so beautifully, Grand Events for the fantastic tropical decor, Pipo's Latin Cafe for the awesome Cuban Cuisine, Flock A Yard for the signature pink flamingos and Merrymakers for creating the atmosphere for a great party!

Thank you so much for making our First Annual Flamingo Fantango a huge success! Because of your support and generosity we were able to raise over $10,000 for the fight against diabetes. Without your help we would never have accomplished this goal.
A special thanks to our wonderful sponsors who helped make the night possible and to everyone who generously donated auction items for our silent auction.
The money raised will help fund lifesaving research to cure diabetes and help out the 17 million people who already have diabetes. We dedicate this event to Sydney Sultenfuss who has to live with this devastating disease everyday.
